In NYC, when you think local news, you think Sue Simmons. This sweet lady has been on the local news circuit about as long as the statue of liberty has been welcoming the tired and needy. So when Suzie drops an F bomb on live TV, needless to say, it shattered my entire child hood. Her and Billy boy O'Reilly should hang out and go to anger management together.
This picture by Hindustan Times lensman Himanshu Vyas has won the IFRA Gold Award for News Photography. Vyas had heard about an orphan fawn being looked after by a Bishnoi woman near his hometown Jodhpur. At the mud dwelling, he noticed the fawn playing with her children. “When hungry, the woman breastfed the fawn and her daughter simultaneously. Wildlife activism is publicised around the world. But this connect between man and nature is unparalleled,” he says. via
For all you Nike fanboys out there I'm sure you've probably seen this already. But, for those of us who don't take pictures of our shoes and out them on the outside of the box so you know what they look like check these bad boys out.
Suge was at Shag nightclub when he began arguing with a man he had been talking with. Our spy overheard Suge say, “I want my money!” Suge and his peeps beat the guy to the ground, but the man landed a right hook on Suge’s face, knocking him out for around three minutes.
Suge was taken to the hospital where LAPD officers arrived, but he refused to file a report.
If those wands don't get turned into shanks, I'll convert to paganism
Prison bosses have been instructed to let pagan inmates keep twigs in their cells...to use as wands.
Officers have been told to allow prisoners to collect and decorate the twigs which they need for their rituals. It is the latest in a series of rulings to protect convicts' rights and ensure equality among different faiths. Followers of other faiths are allowed items such as a prayer mat to allow them to worship.
The policy regarding pagans was announced by Justice Reform Minister Maria Eagle in a parliamentary answer. She said: "Prison service policy is to enable prisoners of different faith traditions, including paganism, to practise their religion.
"Religious artefacts are allowed for relevant faiths within the constraints of good order and discipline. The religious artefacts for pagan prisoners include a flexible twig for a wand." Tory prisons spokesman Edward Garnier said: "This sounds like an April Fool's Day joke. But there's genuine concern prisoners are taking the system for a ride."
Conservative MP Andrew Turner, who uncovered the new ruling, added: "This strikes me as bizarre. A lot of people would be worried about equating paganism with Christianity."

Check out this piece from Evan Seinfeld of Biohazard: As I watched the music career of my band Biohazard stay strong amongst the fans worldwide in the 90's while our bottom line spiraled down into the murky depths of finacial oblivion, I was plagued by an unceasing sense of impending doom, as if I were the captain of a sinking ship. It made no sense to me since our shows were packed and the tours were awesome, but then I reviewed the books. The income that we made from record sales had diminished to nothing. America had taken it's focus from album rock, and simplified it's sites on pay-ola radio and one hit wonders. The monopolization of the music business by the evil corporate machine that was playing games with my art and treating music as a product rather than a life force had taken the fun out of it for me completeley. I never chose music as a business, it chose me as my religion, my higher power and purpose. It almost felt incestuously wrong to make money from it., but as we grew up and had children and mortgages, it felt great to make a decent living doing what I loved. That is the American dream, yes?.....Click here to read more from Evan
Nearly a decade after lashing out at Napster because their music was getting out there too early, Metallica will put material from their forthcoming album online on their own terms today with the launch of “Mission: Metallica.” The site currently features a trailer for what’s to come and the option to sign up for e-mail alerts, but the band promises that users will be able to watch footage of the band in the studio, hear riffs as they are written and enter to win backstage passes for concerts this summer. The band is also advertising something called “Mission: Metallica Platinum,” which will provide downloads of live shows and delivery of the physical album the day it comes out, though there is no indication of how much this service will cost. The band promises even more content concepts will premiere on the site in the coming weeks, all of which will lead up to the release of Metallica’s still-untitled new studio album, expected in September. Doesn't look like any thing's streaming yet. Sweet site Metallica. I hope this site isn't just hours of Lars speaking in that really obnoxious, elooongated tone. That guy thinks he Confucius.
For some, finding inspiration is a daunting task. For the interminable players that are After Midnight Project, inspiration is found in the hearts and souls of their ever growing fan base. Assembled in early 2004, the 5 piece has not looked back. Jason (vocals), TJ (bass), Dan (drums), Spencer (lead guitar), and Christian (rhythm guitar) come together to mesh an intriguing combination of pop, soul and rock that have garnered them comparisons to Incubus, Nine Inch Nails and Smashing Pumpkins.
