Artist Spotlight: Hollywood Undead

Sure you've seen the guys-in-masks gimmick before and their nu-metal sound is nothing overly original, but Hollywood Undead takes pieces of Korn, Slipknot, Linkin Park, D12, Limp Bizkit and creates a sound that will have you banging your head, boozing up, flipping off strangers, and even throwing in a little two-step.

From unsigned MySpace artist in 2005 to #22 on the Billboard Top 200 Charts, Hollywood Undead has broken through the mainstream pop culture with their debut album "Swan Songs" (A & M/Octane). Detonating from their hometown of Los Angeles, CA, the band has erupted into a musical explosion. Within weeks of their first track, titled "No. 5", hitting MySpace.com in 2005 the group was getting incredible demands for more songs and soon after became the first group to be signed to the MySpace record label.


Who:  The group, consisting of Tha Producer, Charlie Scene, J-Dog, Johnny 3 Tears, Da Kurlzz and Funny Man, began with only two members, spanned out to seven, and then dropped off to six. Now with a made-to-order line up and a magnitude of facetious, yet witty lyrics, the group continues to blend their mix of heavy-hitting rock and lyrically frenzied hip hop rhymes with hockey masks and bandannas.
