New Music Releases - Week of April 6th

Slash’s long anticipated solo project leads this week’s album releases.
Slash - Slash: Hell yeah. Slash has put together a killer lineup both behind the soundboard and behind the mic. Ian Astbury of The Cult, Chris Cornell, Rocco DeLuca , Fergie, Dave Grohl, Myles Kennedy of Alterbridge, Kid Rock, Lemmy Kilmeister of Motorhead, Adam Levine of Maroon 5, Duff McKagan, M. Shadows of Avenged Sevenfold, Ozzy Osbourne, Iggy Pop, and Andrew Stockdale of Wolfmother. Listen for free at AOL Listening Party. And win an autographed CD from Slash himself here.
Jakob Dylan - Women and Country: This is Dylan’s highly anticipated sophomore album following his critically acclaimed solo debut, Seeing Things. I listened to a little Wallflowers in my day, but seeing him open up for Willie Nelson truly impressed me.
David Byrne & Fatboy Slim - Here Lies Love: ‘Here Lies Love’ is a 22 song double-disc song cycle - improbably poignant, decidedly surreal, surprisingly thought provoking - about the rise and fall of the Philippines’ notorious Imelda Marcos. It was conceived by David Byrne; composed by Byrne and Fatboy Slim, and performed by an allstar cast drawn from the worlds of indie rock, alt country, R&B and pop- many of which youve probably never heard of.
The Doors - When You’re Strange (Songs From The Motion Picture): The Doors documentary, narrated by Johnny Depp, comes out this Friday at selected theaters. This soundtrack features 13-songs chronicling The Doors’ six albums with studio versions of classic tracks mixed with legendary live cuts including performances from The Ed Sullivan Show and The Isle Of Wight Festival.
